In addition to returning regularly to this website, what do you think is the best way to learning to (first) write Romanian fluently?

By writing the words over and over until you understand them? Reading a lot of Romanian?

What do you think?

Thank you!

i think that it is the same like learning enlish language!!!

you must learn more and more! you must learn all the time and you must start with the simple things! this is the key of success!

im sorry if my english is too basic but I try to learn it! (I begun to learn this language from 2005.)

you see! i have the same question, like you! but in my case, I talk about english language!

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to learn a little romanian 'limba romana' in my spare time. I am english and until last year I didn't even know where Romania was! Thanks to a couple of friends - and the internet - I know now quite a lot about this beautiful country. I would love to visit Romania but I don't think that will be possible. So, I decided to learn how to say 'hello' in romanian... and then good bye... and then ce mai faci - how are you.... then it kinda snowballed - now I want to learn much, much more 'limba romana'

So to all romanian people who are reading this: Imi pare bine cunostinta. Romania este tara frumos.

Oh and by the way, can anyone translate the word 'manelist' for me? I hope it isnt anything rude.

hello, kiaarah, welcome to the forum.

well... that depends :flowers: .

the manele are a kind of music. you can find more about the style here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manele

there are some who love the music. and there are the others. who think it's crap and shitty and not a music thing at all. so it's associated with doubtful parentage, doubtful manners, doubtful culture, doubtful education, doubtful intelligence, doubtful taste, doubtful... you get the point.

so while it refers to a person who listens to that kind of music and they might take pride in it... well, i'd be offended if you called me that

cool post

"manelist" is something that can't be translated in one word but can be explained. ad it goes a little bit like this : "manele"(singular form is manea) is a genre of music wich combines modern beats with gipsy and oriental music. this is a very general description, you really have to hear it to get the picture. "manelist" is a person who listens to/sings manele , it's just like rocker, punker or any other musical adjective. some people give the word an offensive meaning because they hate manele. i don't like them..if you really are pissed of you can replace "manelist" with the much more pejorative form "manelar" :flowers: . that really means you don't like them or the music. but the discussion about manele is much to big to be covered in one post. maybe when you'll lear romanian better you will read the topics on the forum. until then good luck learning and if you have questions feel free to ask and ask some more

Turning this around... is English an easy language to learn?? I used to know someone who taught foreign students english and she said it's more complex than English people think!

i really can't tell. i started learning english ever since kindergarden (even if it was at a very basic level) and i have studyed it for 13 years in school highscool and university, plus the constant contact with movies, music and even literature so english comes pretty natural to me. let's get it straight, the grammar bit is still fuzzy.i know how to form a conditional but don't ask me what tense i used. i have a fine tuned ear and because that almost never failed me i found no use in learning boring ol' grammar stuff :o:

A good point. If you have been learning it since a kid then its gonna be easier!
