I imagine Bucharest to be like most capital cities. Overcrowed, noisy, & expensive :P

I must agree with that. I`ve spent 6 years in Bucharest, and it`s not a lovley place. The House of the People (dictator`s pallace) is very luxurious, and nice to visit. You will be impressed. I was .

Cluj should be on your list. It`s a very nice place too. Dates from Roman times.

Alba Iulia (Apulum in latin) also dates from roman times, and it has a very nice Cathedral, and a big History museum, to celebrate the Union (of Transilvania with the rest of Romania).

Cluj is already on the list :P

That`s good. I used to live there, when I was small.

It`s a nice place. What you could also visit is a little fort called "Rupea" whitch was never conquered.

artmania music festival and anathema, which is one of my favourite bands will play there :D also the city is suposed to be very beautiful. it's very famous for it's german architecture because there were a lot of germans there. most of them left during the comunist years to evade opression

It`s 2007 Europeean Capital of Culture... Together with Luxemburg
