Angela Ghorghiu s-a retras din noua productie a operei "Carmen " de Bizet montata la MET-NY incepand cu 31 decembrie 2009 , s-a retras din primele sase spectacole unde partener de scena ar fi fost fostul ei sot Roberto Alagna !!!!!!!!!!, Diva afirma ca e simpla coincidenta ...oare ?????....va canta doar in ultimele doua spectacole unde Don Jose este interpretat de Jonas Kauffman (actualul ei iubit ).....
