D.B. se foloseste doar de slabiciunile (sau poate puterile) subconstientului ci nu face magie falsa precum David Blaine. A avut o emisiune intitulata "Mind Control" pe canalul englez Channel 4 in care facea o serie de prezentari ale trucurilor sale, emisiunea continand mai multe episoade.
Unul din trucuri este inductia "handshake interrupt" (intrerupere prin scuturarea mainii) care a fost prezentata in clipul Russian Scam pe care il puteti gasi si pe youtube la adresa: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwthqRJ1Khg .
Explicarea acestui truc este mai jos:
"Stick out your right hand to shake theirs. As they go to shake it reach over with your left and grab their wrist and bring the hand up about 12 inches from their face. Point at it with your right hand. Say 'Look at your hand. Close your eyes.' As you say close your eyes drop your pointing finger down encouraging their eyes to close. Now say. 'Thats right go inside.'
Now proceed in whatever way you wish. I tend to encourage the arm to go stiff or to lift. Or just get on with what I want to achieve. If you are insistent on deepening the state you can do so because you have an arm in the air and their eyes closed. So link the arm going stiff/up/down to going deeper inside. They get the idea.
When done tell them their arm will come down and their hand will meet yours and give them some appropriate wake up. Amnesia for what occured may ensue but is not guaranteed. So if you want it ask for it.
The idea is that when you interrupt the handshake they go into a transderivational search (a long winded way of saying - they think 'errrr what?...'). This moment lasts a second and a half approximately. Leave it much monger and they will just put their hand down. Think of it this way you interupt the pattern, they momentarily fall into a sea of confusion. In a second of a half they are going to realise they can touch the bottom - its only a metre deep, before they do you are going to throw them a life line which they will grab and hold onto. As long as you keep saying thats right hold on keep your legs up you will be fine they will do so."
