One of the bonniest Irish names I've ever heard; it's usually spelled with a single n in the middle but fortunately there's a variation with two, as I prefer that for some reason. It's fucking great, I love it, I'm actually thinking of naming one of my bairns that - because of the historical significance. No, honestly, it sounds great.

It has to do with Irish freedom fighters. Differently spelled, that's true (if ye look up Fenians ye'll find out). It's a traditional Irish name that's quite unusual nowadays due to the significance attributed to it.
