Some people take drugs in the hope they will get help with their depression, or perhaps they hope they can help change their perspective on life. Life is harsh sometimes. You feel down, and hope drugs can take you 'up.'

Drugs are good! Drugs are funny! Drugs let you evade from reality! Drugs are your best friends! Last but not least, drugs are the real Heaven!
Seriously, I know people who take drugs; lite ones, but still.... The interesting thing is that they look & act like any normal citizen, they show no sign of their dependence.....

indeed, they use drugs that involve smoking them, and these are lite ones.
Shur a scris:honestly wonder what motivates those people.
Do you really think that they are motivated by something?
If they were, they probably wouldn't have taken that stuff.
I honestly know over a duzine of people on drugs. The most relevant case is a neighbour (or a proper tense is: was
) that took that stuff (heroine and cocaine) for five years. Last year, he died. Heroine overdose. He died on the stairs, at the sixth floor of the block. He was twenty.
He had everything, before starting taking drugs: money, a beautiful girlfriend, loving parents, a promising career in football...

yes, i do. no one does anything for no reason. so something made them do it in the first place. and i wonder what. curiosity? escapism? self-delusion that they'll be happy, active, sexy, sucessful, accepted by peers?
and that "he had everything phrase"... that's such a clichee... people always tend to use that on others... "why is (s)he like that? (s)he has everything (s)he could possibly want"... well there probably was something he wanted, that he didn't have.

Yeah, lack of fun. When you have lots of money, you tend to become bored of the simple, beautiful and healthy things you can buy with them. I'm telling you, I knew him very well and still... he had everything his heart desired. His parents loved him and gave him everything he wished. He was under bad influence, he joined a gang of dangerous people... he started taking drugs because his friends were doing that.. and I guess you can imagine the rest.
He was such a nice guy, he always had a good word for everyone, he always wanted to help... even if he was taking drugs. :(

Peer pressure must be a huge factor in people starting out using drugs. I remember i was around 16/17 years old when I first realised how many of my friends were starting to use drugs. Nothing too heavy, but still a drug none the less.
The scary thing was how easy it was to get what you wanted. Everyone knew someone who could get them anything. A lot of these people didn't use them all the time, but a few did. I would go out every Fri night and there were a few people who were always on something. These were the people who you knew were going to be heavy users.
Back in those days, Ecstasy was the drug of choice, but now its Cocaine.
If any one good thing could be said about Ecstasy - it would be the fact there was hardly ever any trouble in clubs/pubs. Everyone was too happy and lovey!! Nowadays people go out, get drunk and have a fight!!
Dont try it kids though. Ecstasy IS dangerous and a lot of people die from dehydration after taking it.
I never tried drugs...shocking, I know !
I have done a lot of substances. I am only 21 years old and my experience in this domain is kind of broad.I can make a large list of substances that I have tried to get high on. I have been an avid opiate user and also I have taken large amounts of amphetamine and ketamine. Now, that I'm recovered, looking back I can say that I have travelled through hell.
