Ampera 10661 Raportează post Postat Iulie 14, 2014 (editat) Antiques Roadshow - niciodata nu ma plictiseste emisiunea asta, e f educativa.''Local people bring along their possessions to be evaluated for authenticity and interest (especially related to the venue) and an approximate valuation is given. Often, the professional evaluators give a rather in-depth historical, craft, or artistic context to the antique, adding a very strong cultural element to the show'' Editat Iulie 14, 2014 de Ampera Partajează acest post Link spre post Distribuie pe alte site-uri
The Unknown 15031 Raportează post Postat August 1, 2015 (editat) Virtuosity – The Cliburn Virtuosity – The Cliburn premieres Friday, July 31, 2015. Hear the world's best young pianists perform at the Cliburn piano competition. About the Program Virtuosity – The Cliburn searches for the musical souls of the most gifted young pianists on the planet as they try to make a name for themselves at the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. The pressure is overwhelming because the stakes are so high: prize money, concert bookings, a recording contract, a career. At the heart of this story is the courage it takes for a 20-year-old to go onstage alone before 2,000 people, and hundreds of thousands more online, and play a unique interpretation of one of the most difficult pieces ever written for the piano. And all of the onstage brilliance and backstage drama takes place in the year when the inspiration and namesake of the competition, Van Cliburn, passed away. This film is a tribute to his memory and particular genius. But ultimately, the focus is on this group of young people as they articulate their personalities through their music: brilliant, eccentric, tender, touching, dazzling, deadly serious and wildly entertaining. As different as they are as people, these young musicians share a single reality: winning The Cliburn would change their lives overnight. A Closer Look at Virtuosity – The Cliburn Beatrice Rana (20, Italy) performs during the Semifinal Round of the Fourteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas.Ralph Lauer/The Cliburn Virtuosity – The Cliburn was produced by Van Cliburn Foundation and 88 Films, LLC.
History books traditionally depict the pre-Columbus Americas as a pristine wilderness where small native villages lived in harmony with nature. But scientific evidence tells a very different story: When Columbus stepped ashore in 1492, millions of people were already living there. America wasn't exactly aNew World, but a very old one whose inhabitants had built a vast infrastructure of cities, orchards, canals and causeways. The English brought honeybees to the Americas for honey, but the bees pollinated orchards along the East Coast. Thanks to the feral honeybees, many of the plants the Europeans brought, like apples and peaches, proliferated. Some 12,000 years ago, North American mammoths, ancient horses, and other large mammals vanished. The first horses in America since the Pleistocene era arrived with Columbus in 1493. Settlers in the Americas told of rivers that had more fish than water. The South American potato helped spark a population explosion in Europe. In 1491, the Americas had few domesticated animals, and used the llama as their beast of burden. In 1491, more people lived in the Americas than in Europe. The first conquistadors were sailors and adventurers. In 1492, the Americas were not a pristine wilderness but a crowded and managed landscape. The now barren Chaco Canyon was once covered with vegetation. Along with crops like wheat, weeds like dandelion were brought to America by Europeans. It’s believed that the domestication of the turkey began in pre-Columbian Mexico, and did not exist in Europe in 1491. By 1500, European settlers and their plants and animals had altered much of the Americas’ landscape. While beans, potatoes, and maize from the Americas became major crops in continental Europe. http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/america-before-columbus/ Partajează acest post Link spre post Distribuie pe alte site-uri
