BUCHAREST / 21:12, 24.09.2008 The Romanian government will allocate a subsidy of 200 lei (EUR1=RON3.6690) per hectare to small farmers for the autumn crops for 120 hectares total per farm, Premier Calin Popescu Tariceanu said Wednesday.

He said maximum subsidies will not exceed EUR7,500 per beneficiary, regardless of the land owned. A  Estimations of the Ministry of Agriculture indicate some 435,000 farms will benefit from the payment scheme, Tariceanu mentioned. A  Farmers have until November...
