BUCHAREST / 19:01, 28.07.2008 Romanian President Traian Basescu on Monday called for an extraordinary meeting of the parliamenta€™s two chambers, asking the MPs to approve criminal probes against former ministers and acting lawmakers, president spokesman Valeriu Turcan said.The head of state’s request follows the recent country report released by the European Commission, which criticized Romania’s poor result in fighting corruption, especially at high levels.
