07.2008 Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu proposed Wednesday to the trade unions a minimum wage hike to 540 lei (EUR1=RON3.5952) from RON500 at present, which is to grow to RON600 on January 1, 2009.On long term, Tariceanu proposed a gradual increase by RON100 each year as of 2009."Given that gas prices rose in July and we are expecting inflationary shocks, I propose a minimum wage hike to RON540 as of October 1," Tariceanu told unionists during a meeting.In...
