BUCHAREST / 14:15, 6.08.2008 Romanian president Traian Basescu Wednesday decorated posthumously Russian writer and dissident Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn with the "Star of Romania" national order, in rank of Great Cross.

Solzhenitsyn, Nobel Prize winner, was decorated for his courage and dignity and his contribution to world literature, the president’s office said in a statement. Solzhenitsyn, who died Sunday night at age 89, was buried Wednesday at Moscow"s historic Donskoy Monastery.
