It scans uploaded documents for plagiarism, checks for missing references or incorrectly citing a sentence. It is designed to help both students and teachers and its aim is to reduce the copying and shopping of term papers and essays. It's easy to use, it's effective at identifying plagiarized fragments and flagging similar passages or misattributed quotes. The process is very simple: add a document to scan, scan the document for plagiarism on the Internet or Viper's database. Unfortunately, the free version of the program keeps your scanned materials private, but after nine months, the documents are published in the "student essay database".
