This release for all Radeon family products updates the ATI Display Driver to version 8.172. The unified driver has been further enhanced to provide the highest level of power, performance, and reliability. The driver supports 24 languages. Catalyst introduces Display Abstraction Layer (DAL) activation of driver message events for notification of controller configuration changes. This feature will apply to all supported operating systems. Catalyst 5.9 also introduces directional motion adaptive deinterlacing algorithm through the 3D shader. The algorithm will detect edges in 5 different directions. This reduces artifacts, and improves the overall detinterlace video quality. This package also includes ATI Multimedia Center 9.08, HydraVision 3.25.0006, HydraVision 3.25.9006 Basic Edition, WDM Driver Install Bundle, Remote Wonder 3.0.2, and the Southbridge/IXP driver.
