Josh Kovacs (Ben Stiller) is the administrator of a high-rise building in Central Park. He discovers that both he and one of his employees have just lost their life savings because Arthur Shaw (Alan Alda), a Wall Street magnate, pulled the rope on them, stealing over 2 billion dollars.

Held under home detention in his penthouse  from Kovacs' building, Shaw is unaware of the plan Kovacs and his employee are putting up. Josh Kovacs, Odessa Montero, Rick Malloy, Cole Howard and Chase Fitzhugh are planning to steal back their money, knowing that the building's security system is vulnerable and that Shaw's penthouse isn't as impenetrable as he thinks.
