Straw Dogs is an american thriller film, a remake of the 1971 homonymous film based on the novel The Siege of Trencher's farm, written by Gordon Williams. David Summers (James Marsden), a screenwriter, and his wife Amy (Kate Bosworth) move from Los Angeles to Amy's hometown in the Deep South, to sell her recently deceased father's house.

Relocating doesn't bring them peace as the tension between them reaches fever pitch. As if that wasn't enough, they have increasing conflicts with the locals and the situation turns into a real threat to both of them.

Even their marriage is in danger, as Charlie, Amy's ex boyfriend tries to win her back, much to David's dismay.
