One for the Money is a 2012 comedy film based on the novel of the same name by Janet Evanovich. It tells the story of Stephanie Plum (Katherine Heigl), recently divorced and unemployed who becomes a bail enforcement agent at her cousin's bail-bond firm.

She has no experience or skills but her desperation determines her to accept cousin Vinnie's offer. Her first mission is to chase after her cousin's highest stakes bail jumper, Joe Morrelli, an ex cop, now wanted for murder. He also happens to be one of Stephanie's former lovers who seduced and abandoned her back in high school.
