In a Better World (Hævnen - Danish title) is a Danish-Swedish drama film directed by Susanne Bier. The action is set in a small town from Denmark and in a refugee camp in Africa.

Anton (Mikael Persbrandt) is a Swedish doctor who commutes between a refugee camp in Sudan and his home in Denmark. Anton has a twelve-year-old son, Elias (Markus Rygaard) who befriends Christian, a new boy at school who just moved from London with his father (Ulrich Thomsen), after his mother's death.

Troubled by his mother's death, Christian tends to avenge and to punish any injustice around him, with the price of getting into trouble. But when his acts of revenge hurt his new friend Elias, Christian realizes the seriousness of the consequences of his actions.
