Details

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb is a 1964 black comedy directed by Stanely Kubrick and inspired by  Peter George's novel Red Alert. The film satirizes the nuclear scare.

The action revolves around the mentally instable US Air Force Brigadier General Jack D. Ripper (Sterling Hayden), who plans a nuclear attack against the Soviet Union whilst the president of the United States, his military counselors and a Royal Air Force officer (Peter Sellers) are trying to prevent the attack, fearing that the bombardiers will produce a nuclear apocalypse.
