American History X is an American drama film directed by Tony Kaye in 1998, starring Edward Norton. The story revolves around Derek Vinyard (Edward Norton) and Daniel Vinyard (Edward Furlong), two brothers living in Venice Beach - Los Angeles, California.

Their father is killed by a drug dealer while trying to extinguish a fire in Los Angeles. Derek is drawn into the neo-Nazi movement and kills two black men who were trying to steal his father's truck. As consequence he is sentenced to three years in prison.

Meanwhile, Daniel is more and more influenced by his brother's way of thinking and acting but now Derek tries to prevent his brother from doing the same mistakes he did, knowing that staying in prison was a horrifying experience.
