Corn Flex has early been infected by british breakbeat music. Since the year 1993 he has been collecting jungle records and organising parties in local youth clubs and venues. Since these days, he has always stayed true to his philosophy of diversity within the jungle sound. He prefers to play long sets which give him the opportunity to catch the crowd and take it with him on a journey through all dimensions of saturated breaks, warm bass lines and the proper amount of funk. Because funk to him means the use of the right beat mathematics, in order to create a groove full of friction and itching grooves, no matter if it goes clubby or heavy at the moment.
A good set to him starts with the ability of the DJ to be a real selector and react to what’s happening on the floor, always on the run. Spinning records means communication with the audience and the right humour to give those a wink who like to take themselves too serious, again and again.
In summer 2001, Corn Flex and other enthusiasts founded the High Finesse Bass Travel Agency, in order to spread the love for a so-called fusion jungle over East Germany – so far the plans.
2005 was an important year for the crew and Flex himself. Since May, he hosts a monthly drum and bass radio show in Dresden. Other than that, in June he had the opportunity to tour through a little part of Romania, where his colleague Metasound and him found worthy contacts and a wonderful scene they would have never expected to be so lively. Respect and sorry about the ignorance, before.
Furthermore, since September he works together with the two female vocalists Walburga Walde and Paula Wiechmann, to work on the vision of an energetic jungle live show in the name of the wobble.
